Torry Holt's Career Over?

"Veteran wide receiver Torry Holt was placed on injured reserve by the New England Patriots on Sunday, the team announced. Holt has a knee injury and will undergo surgery this week, according to his agent, Kennard McGuire. It is possible the surgery will mean the end of Holt's stellar career (ESPN)."

Yea, real fucking shocking Patriots. To be honest I don't think Holt was going to make this team anyways. He is all washed up, and was just a name so that Patriots fan wouldn't go ape shit that they didn't do a damn thing all offseason. Good thing we didn't sign that Owens guy, huh? Yea, he isn't better then Holt. He wouldn't be a great deep threat opposite Moss.

Anyways, the Patriots really need Tate to step up. Edleman is a replica of Welker, which is great, but I don't really see the Patriots having both guys on the field unless they go to a spread offense again. Tate can be a nice deep threat, if he can stay healthy, but I'd feel a lot better with a proven starter playing. Then again that is basically how I feel about this defense too. If all these young guys don't step up, they are going to suck.
