Chien-Ming Wang's Season Over

"New York Yankees starting pitcher Chien-Ming Wang will undergo season-ending arthroscopic surgery on his injured right shoulder Wednesday. The Yankees made the announcement after Tuesday night's 6-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. New York manager Joe Girardi said there is no timetable for when Wang will return next season and that the team will know more about a potential timeframe after the procedure (ESPN)."

Wang has had a really rough year. I will totally say that I thought he was going to be awesome this year, but I was dead wrong. At no point this year could he get guys out. His velocity was down, his sinker wasn't biting, and guys were just teeing off. There is no word yet as to whether or not he will be ready for the start of spring training next year, but at least for the Yankees sake they called it a season earlier, so he will have every opportunity to be ready.
