Pruitt To Be Traded Or Waived
"Gabe Pruitt's contract will become guaranteed for the 2009-10 season if he's still on the Celtics roster on Friday. The Boston Globe reports the Celtics are attempting to trade Pruitt since the team is leaning toward waiving the point guard if no deal materializes.
The newspaper also reports Pruitt is unlikely to be used as part of a sign-and-trade deal involving Indiana guard Marquis Daniels, since the Pacers have three point guards already." ESPN
It's hard what to think of Pruitt. On one hand he has never really done anything that has showed me potential, but on the other hand I don't know if he has ever got a fair amount of burn to fairly assess how good he is or if he just flat out sucks. At one point I believed Doc could throw him in the fire and he could be Rajon's back-up. But it looks as if Pruitt just didn't do enough for the team to extend his contract one more year. The discouraging thing about this news is that if he is not going to be involved in the Marquis Daniels trade, that means that Billy Walker is definitely gone.
