Dodgers/Angels Going After Lee
"The Cleveland Plain-Dealer notes today that there's a chance "something could get done" between the Dodgers and Indians for Cliff Lee, namely because the Dodgers have the minor league options Cleveland covets. ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney discussed Cliff Lee yesterday the Indians' asking price. On Friday, ESPN.com's Jayson Stark explained in his column: "It would take a four-for-one, Halladay-esque package." According to Yahoo Sports, the Angels have grown frustrated with their pursuit of Roy Halladay and have shifted their attention to landing the Indians' Cliff Lee (ESPN)."
It sounds like the asking price as of right now is a little too high, but I actually think Lee will get moved. The Indians have started their fire sale shipping Garko out. This will happen as a last minute deal and my guess is that it will be the Dodgers that get it done, since they have the minor leaguers to do so. I have never been high on Cliff Lee, but he has been putting up solid numbers this year, and a switch to the NL can only help him.
