Vick To Redskins Gaining Momentum
"Jason Campbell can't catch a break. At nearly every step this offseason, the Redskins have been linked to another QB, and with comments made recently by Jim Zorn and some other 'Skins coaches, he may have Michael Vick breathing down his neck at some point this season. An anonymous Redskins coach told Fox 31 in Denver that, "There is definitely a number of us who would love to have him play here. I can tell you I would not mind at all." While a little bit dismissive, head coach Jim Zorn left the door open in saying before Washington's first training camp practice that they would not be signing Vick "at this juncture." The insinuation here is that the team will have Vick's cell number handy if Campbell struggles to start the 2009 campaign.
Meanwhile, Vick's contention that he was close to signing with a team has been refuted by what a source has told ESPN's John Clayton. Clayton notes that it's likely we won't see a Vick signing until training camps are "well under way" (ESPN)."
Lets get one thing straight. Vick has not played in a couple years and right now is not a starting QB. People who think he is better then Jason Campbell are fucking retarded. Actually I think Jason Campbell is very underrated, and if the team would just off his back he could put up some solid numbers this year. If the Skins want to sign Vick, and use him for certain plays...fine, but he is not a starter right now. He has a long way to prove he can play at that level again.
