Dodgers Get George Sherrill From Orioles
"The Dodgers shored up their bullpen Thursday by acquiring Orioles closer George Sherrill in exchange for two prospects, third baseman Josh Bell and pitcher Steve Johnson, according to baseball sources (MLB.com)."
Sherrill has been one of the most underrated closers in the game over the past two seasons. This is a nice pickup for the Dodgers, who will still be looking for some starting pitching help. Sherrill will serve as the left-handed setup man for Jonathan Broxton. Sucks for anyone who has Sherrill on their fantasy team. The Orioles likely will turn struggling Jim R. Johnson or veteran Danys Baez to close now.
