Pedro is not close to what he once was, but this is a smart cheap move. Pedro is still better then 80% of the 5th starters in the AL and really deserved to be picked up. It is good to see he finally lowered his ridiculous demands. I do not think this will be the last move the Phillies make. I still expect them to sign another starter. My guess is either Washburn, Halladay, or Bedard.
Pedro will start on the DL. It hasn't been decided when or where he will start a rehabilitiation assignment, or when he will make his first start.
