I like this move for the 49ers because it gives Alex Smith another check down guy and will take some of the workload off Frank Gore's shoulders. The 49ers offense has a lot of players Michael Crabtree, Frank Gore, Vernon Davis and now Brian Westbrook. If Alex Smith can put his shit together and if that defense can still be good, they will surprise a lot of people in the NFL.
