Dice-K had the worse start of his career as he was absolutely lit up for 5 hits, 5 runs and two walks in one inning. I say it was just one of those games, but people are calling it arm fatigue, which it possibly, and I am praying is not the case. If it is arm fatigue, this will just give me another reason to hate the WBC, because Dice-K made three starts during that, and that may effect his durability during "real" season. After Dice K was bounced, the 4-8 hitters were able to tie the game up. The Sox bullpen did great, especially Masterson who pitched 4 innings and struck out 6. But then Francona pulled my first "fire Francona" move of the year when he took out Papelbon after pitching one inning and put in "lefty specialist" Javier Lopez who promptly lost the game to a Travis Buck dribbler which scored Rajai Davis in the 12th.
This year is really starting to worry me, because both Lester and Dice-k look like shit, and hopefully this is just starting slowly, but I have a bad feeling.
