Bills About To Make Big Trade?
"Jason Peters is the starting left tackle for the Buffalo Bills and, at his best, he's one of the top players at his position. But he wasn't at his best a year ago, and that's being kind. Now he wants a contract extension that sources say averages $11.5 million-$12 million a season, and the Bills are so frustrated over their failure to reach a settlement they're thinking the unthinkable. They're considering trading him (Sportsline)."
This could be a very big crossroads for the Bills. They obviously can't cave to his demands, because he hasn't earned it with his play last year, and if they do cave then they are going to have a line a mile long of players looking for new outrages contracts. So, maybe they have to trade him, but if they do then they are really putting their offensive line into question. When that happens you can have all the T.O.'s you want, you aren't going to be able to do anything on offense. I always believe in building from the lines out. So, if the Bills are going to make a trade it will have to be to bring in another offensive lineman, either through the trade or for picks they can use in the draft.
