The Sox are very prepared for this rainout. Beckett will pitch tomorrow, and the only thing that will really change is that Beckett and Penny will switch positions this weekend. Beckett was slated to start Saturday, but now since his start was bumped back a day he will start Sunday on regular rest. While Penny will move up a day now that the Sox actually need their 5th starter.
The other change is that Penny will now not go down to Fort Myers to pitch extended spring training to pitch tomorrow, since his start has been moved up. He'll instead pitch a few simulated innings in Boston tomorrow before making his Red Sox debut on Saturday.
