The New York Post's Joel Sherman is reporting that the Sox might be interested in trading Jason Bay to the Blue Jays for Rios and B.J. Ryan. This move would free up some money for the Jays so that they could resign Roy Halladay, and the Red Sox would be able to get something for Jason Bay who can walk at the end of the year.
This trade is fucking stupid, and is never going to happen. Rios has been nothing but an underachiever, and has definitely not lived up to his 6 year 63.6 million contract that he got. B.J. Ryan is now injury prone, and his velocity has gone so far down that he might lose his closers job with the Jays. The Sox might still be able to work out a deal for Bay, and if they don't they can use that money to make a run at someone else (Holliday?). So, no there is no way that this is true, and even if it was I would through a fit if they followed through.
