Several Nets sources told the New York Post that the team has interest in Glen Davis, but all agreed the chances of landing the restricted free agent is unlikely. The Celtics want to retain him and they'll match any reasonable offer.
"We're trying to stay abreast of all situations," GM Kiki Vandeweghe said. "We've contacted most of the teams and the agents to make sure we know where everybody is. We're waiting to see what comes out of the initial waves of signings and movement. We like our young players, we like our core group and don't want to change it (ESPN)."
In short, this has no shot of happening. From everything I have been reading Davis is coming back to the Celtics, and if the rumors about Marbury are true then I am really pumped for the Celtics next season. They would be stacked with those two guys, and their bench that was their biggest problem last year could be their biggest strength....
