Part of me is so sick of guys retiring and unretiring (Favre), but this case is different...
"Mason cited the passing of longtime friend and former teammate Steve McNair as a major reason he is leaving the game and recently told ESPN that he is "99 percent" sure of his decision. Baltimore is still taking a wait-and-see approach until Mason meets with team officials and files the official paperwork (ESPN)."
Mason is still a hell of a receiver and the Raven really need him. He is set to meet with the Ravens over the next 2 weeks. I expect when he gets a chance to get his head on straight that he will end up coming back. He lost one of his best friends, and is going through the grieving part of this, but I would really be shocked if he doesn't come back this year. If he does retire the Ravens have a couple options. Marvin Harrison is probably the best option with Matt Jones and Amani Toomer as the other too. Basically the Ravens better pray that Mason comes back...
