Here is the news today on Roy Halladay...
Roy Halladay insisted he has not specified his preferred landing spots should the Blue Jays trade him before the upcoming non-waiver trade deadline. Halladay has a full no-trade clause and has made clear to Blue Jays GM J.P Ricciardi that he would accept a trade only to a contender. He also enjoys a strong friendship with Cardinals ace Chris Carpenter, his Blue Jays teammate before Carpenter signed with the Cardinals in December 2002. Carpenter has publicly lobbied for the Cardinals to pursue the Halladay. Cards GM John Mozeliak acknowledged his intention to approach Ricciardi with the organization's interest. As one Cardinals source suggested this week, "We may be able to give up an arm or a leg. But we're not going to sacrifice the whole body" in a trade (Sportsline)."
I have said it from the beginning I think he is going to the NL. The only team in the AL that has a shot is the Angels, because there is 0 chance that the Jays will trade Halladay within their own division. The Cardinals and the Phillies are the more likely place for him to go, and if I was to make a guess I would say Philly is the one who will get it done.
