Royals @ Red Sox Preview

The Sox homestand didn't start the way they thought it would, but the Sox seem to be getting it going over the last two games, and the Royals suck, so Boston has be looking to take advantage.

Tonight we get to see Penny vs. Luke Hochevar. Hochevar is terrible. On the season he is 4-3 with a 5.08 and has about as many BB's as he does Ks. He has never had success against the Red Sox (0-2 6.94 ERA), so even without Lowell the Sox should tear this guy apart.

Penny is hoping for a lot more run support as he has just one win in his last five starts despite a 2.20 ERA over that span. It is funny how run support can come and go. Wakefield used to always be the guy who never got run support, but this year he is getting a ton, and Penny is the guy who has to pitched flawlessly to get a win. Penny should be able to improve his stats tonight as Kansas City ranks last in the AL with a .311 on-base percentage.

Game starts at 7:10 on NESN.

Here is a look at the Sox lineup for tonight's game...

1. J.D. Drew, RF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. Kevin Youkilis, 3B
4. David Ortiz, DH
5. Jason Bay, LF
6. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
7. Jason Varitek, C
8. Mark Kotsay, 1B
9. Nick Green, SS
