Beckett Suspended 6 Games

"Boston pitcher Josh Beckett has been suspended for six games and fined by Major League Baseball, which determined he intentionally threw a pitch near the head of the Los Angeles Angels' Bobby Abreu last week. Beckett also was cited for "aggressive actions" after the pitch that led to the benches clearing Sunday, according to Bob Watson, vice president for discipline in the commissioner's office. If Beckett appeals, any penalties would be delayed until after a hearing (Sportsline)."

Well I think most of us saw this coming. Basically it will just push back his start a day or two (if he doesn't appeal). I have an odd feeling that Beckett will fight this just because some could argue that Abreu's timeout threw off his pitch (no, I don't believe that at all). Either way, I like it when pitchers get pissed, and I want Beckett to be a pissed off pitcher all year, and dominate. Hopefully that happens, and he comes back with a vengeance.
