Well nothing out of the ordinary around here. Boston fans are already freaking out. DP is cursing the heavens and demanding Francona be fired with a 155 games left to go. Don't get me wrong I am concerned, but there are some things that I know will get better. Boston's pitching staff is too good to pitch they way they have through this first week. Lester (even is DP for some reason hates him) will not have a 9.00 ERA for the rest of the year. He will get back on track. I think we will see a lot more of what Beckett did in his first start rather then his 2nd. The bullpen is also too good to be pitching the way they have been. Now, what does worry me...
I was worried about the hitting before the season started. I was worried Big Papi might be near the end. Lowell looks like he is 90, and the only guy hitting is Youk (and to some extent Bay). Ellsbury has been terrible (yes DP I know, and I was trying to be optimistic). But it is early and guys like Pedrioa are eventually going to get hot.
Tonight the Sox will put Dice-K on the mound. He always gives me a heart attack, but I feel like the A's have a lot of free swingers that Dice-K will take advantage of. He just needs to limit his walks, because guys like Giambi, Cust, Holliday are a shit load more dangerous if you give them free baserunner. I think this will be a low scoring game, and Dice-K will give the Sox a strong 6. Boston is feeling the pressure, and I hope they don't press too much, but still I think they get the win tonight.
