I actually forgot about this whole "insider trading" thing with Mark Cuban, but it seems like he got away with whatever he did...
"A federal judge has dismissed a civil insider trading lawsuit against Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. The SEC alleged Cuban was involved in insider trading when he sold shares in an Internet search engine company, Mamma.com Inc., after receiving confidential information about a private offering in 2004. The SEC said Cuban avoided a loss of $750,000 by selling his 600,000 shares, which represented a 6.3 percent stake in the company. Cuban's lawyers argued that the NBA team owner wasn't legally an "insider (ESPN)."
You know what...Good. I like Mark Cuban. I don't always agree with what he does, but I feel like if I fell into a bunch of money I would buy a team and be just like him. He loves his team, and really gets involved. Plus in a business that usually has very quiet owners Cuban is more of just a fan who happens to own the team. So, good for you Mark Cuban keep livin' the dream!
Oh yea, maybe that pic above might be my favorite Mark Cuban pic...
