Angels starting pitcher Nick Adenhart was killed in a hit-and-run accident early this morning after pitching in Wednesday night's game, according to several Internet news reports.
This really sucks, because this was going to be his year. Last year the Angels brought him up and he wasn't ready, but with the injuries to Lackey, Santana and Escobar, he was going to be the man. Our condolences go out to Angel fans and Nick's family.
I guess all that is left to say is:

The Angels have postponed their game vs. the A's. This death comes after a death of an Angels fan that ended up dieing after getting in a brawl during the Angels season opener.
